In Leverage Points: Places to intervene in a system, systems thinker Donella Meadows asserted that the most influential leverage points for systems change are the paradigms used to design the system, and the goals of the system.

We might call these people’s ‘mindsets’. Affecting mindsets includes not only attitudes, but also our mental maps of the world.

We think that changing mindsets is more impactful than technical solutions in terms of dealing with our ecological crisis, because mindset change is essential to change the system. And, both are needed.
