Joseph Merz

Joseph started his first business at sixteen years old and has founded a number of organisations since. Within these he has developed new concepts like setting commercial limits to growth and profit. His exceptionally ethical approach to business has gained him a small but strong following. Joseph is still involved in a number of commercial ventures but spends most of his time in his not-for-profit, Merz Institute. The institute is data-driven and behaviour-focused, with a broad mission to ensure continual relevance in a world where the only constant is change. It is currently working on issues from capitalism and energy, to insect biomass decline and the climate crisis.
